Himelspach, Lamborn Qualify for State Primary Ballot

Denver, March 13, 2020 - The Elections Division at the Colorado Secretary of State’s office announced today that Dan Himelspach, Democratic candidate for Colorado House of Representatives District 6, and Doug Lamborn, Republican candidate for United States House of Representatives District 5, have each collected the required number of signatures to appear on their respective party’s June 30 State Primary ballot.

Candidates for state representative are required to collect 1,000 signatures (or 30% of votes cast in the last election, whichever is smaller) in their district, while candidates for U.S. House of Representatives must collect 1,500 signatures (or 10% of votes cast in the last election), a requirement outlined by 1-4-801, C.R.S. Himelspach submitted 1,488 valid signatures, while Lamborn submitted 2,218, both clearing their respective thresholds.
