The proposed revisions add Spinal Muscular Atrophy due to homozygous deletion of exon 7 in the Survival Motor Neuron (SMN1) gene to the newborn screening panel and except Phenylketonuria (PKU) from second newborn screening panel unless specific circumstances that warrant second screening are present. |
