Three Candidates Qualify for General Election Ballot

Denver, August 17, 2020 – The Elections Division of the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office has announced that Julien Bouquet, a nonpartisan candidate for Regional Transportation District Board of Directors, District G and Roger Edwards, a nonpartisan candidate for Regional Transportation District Board of Directors, District H, have collected the required number of signatures to appear on the November 3 general election ballot.

Marcus Allen Murphy, an Unaffiliated candidate for United States House of Representatives, District 5, also submitted the required number of valid signatures and will appear on the ballot.

Candidates for RTD Board of Directors are required to collect 250 signatures in their district, a requirement outlined by 32-9-111, C.R.S. Bouquet submitted 314 valid signatures and Edwards submitted 472 valid signatures, clearing the threshold to appear on the ballot.

Candidates wishing to seek nomination by petition are required to collect 1,500 valid signatures from their district, as outlined by 1-4-802(1)(c)(III), C.R.S. Murphy submitted 1,924 valid signatures, also clearing the threshold to appear on the ballot.
