Buttigieg Campaign Officially Withdraws from Colorado Presidential Primary

Denver, March 3, 2020 – Pete Buttigieg, Democratic Party candidate for United States President, officially filed paperwork with the Colorado Secretary of State to withdraw as a candidate in the March 3, 2020 Presidential Primary Election. This official filing means votes for Buttigieg in the primary will not be counted by county clerks.

Buttigieg joins Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, Maryland Congressman John Delaney, and Colorado Senator Michael Bennet by officially submitting paperwork to withdraw from the primary. Votes for these four candidates will not be counted. Even though candidates may publicly announce their withdrawal in the media or other places, votes will be counted for them unless they file the appropriate paperwork in Colorado.

When a candidate officially withdraws, notification will be posted on the Secretary of State’s website and county clerks will make similar notifications at their respective Voter Service and Polling Centers.
