Secretary Williams: Luck, Gibson, and Dougherty make ballot
DENVER, April 18, 2018 -- Secretary of State Wayne Williams announced today that three more candidates, Republican Stephanie Luck and Democrat Hazel Gibson who are both running for state senate, and Democrat Michel Dougherty, who is running for District Attorney, have successfully petitioned onto the ballot in their districts.
Luck is running for the seat now held by Senate President Kevin Grantham, R-Cañon City, who is term limited. Gibson is running for the seat in Senate District 32, which is now held by Irene Aguilar, D-Denver, who is also term limited.
Dougherty is running for District Attorney for the 20th Judicial District which serves Boulder. Dougherty is the current district attorney, he was appointed to the position in late February by Gov. Hickenlooper after Stan Garnett stepped down.

Luck is the only person running in Senate District 2 who submitted petitions to get on the ballot. Gibson is running against Zach Neumann, who successfully petitioned on to the ballot last month, and Robert Rodriguez, who submitted signatures but ended up getting on the ballot through the assembly process, which concluded Saturday.
Candidates who planned to petition onto the primary ballot were allowed to begin collecting signatures on Jan. 16, and required to turn them in by March 20. Here is that list.
