2020 Primary Elections > Unaffiliated voters

Unaffiliated Voters

Follow these steps for each primary:

  1. Choose which party’s ballot you would like to receive by June 1, 2020 for the State Primary. You can do this by selecting a party preference in your voter record. Note: This resets to “no preference” after each election.

  2. If you do not choose a party preference, you will receive TWO ballots in the mail, one from each major party, for the State Primary.

  3. Fill out ONLY ONE ballot for the party of your choice.
This is important. Even though you receive two ballots, you must choose only one to cast your vote. If you submit two voted ballots, your vote will NOT count.

  4. Mail-in or drop off your ballot.
If you choose to mail-in your ballot, note the mail-in deadline on your ballot material. Otherwise, you have until 7:00 PM on Election Day to drop off your ballot in any designated drop box. Drop box locations are listed in your ballot material, or you can find them here.

  5. Or vote in person!
Don’t forget, here in Colorado you can also vote – and register to vote – in person, up to 7:00 PM on Election Day. Find in-person voting locations here.
