Description of Subjects/Issues |
These rules were recently amended by the board at its August board meeting to ensure that
the rules appropriately reflect federal regulations, state statutes, and best practices to
provide for the safe transportation of students, as well as to provide clarity related to
transportation for students with special needs. Subsequently, as required by the state’s
Administrative Procedures Act, the rules were reviewed by the Office of Legislative Legal
Services (OLLS). Staff from the OLLS expressed concerns about the clarity of rules 4.10 and
17.2. In order to address those concerns, CDE staff are proposing minor technical
amendments to better clarify these 2 rules. |
