Description of Subjects/Issues |
The amendments are proposed by the Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment pursuant to Sections 25-27-104, 25-27-114, 25-1.5-302, and 25-27-102, C.R.S., and pertain Senate Bill 24-167, which added a statutory definition of qualified medication administration personnel to the ALR statutes at Section 25-27-102(10.5), C.R.S. The Division proposes a conforming amendment to Chapter 24 to clarify which definition applies, based on the facility license type. |
Purpose/Objective of Rule |
SB24-167 adds a statutory definition of qualified medication administration personnel (QMAPs) to the ALR statutes at Section 25-27-102(10.5), C.R.S. As part of this rulemaking, the rule-based definition is being replaced by a definition that refers to the statutory definition. An amendment is being made to 6 CCR 1011-1, Chapter 24 – Medication Administration to reflect the statutory definition of QMAP now in effect for ALRs. |
