Description of Subjects/Issues |
The Colorado Office of Massage Therapy Licensure will hold a Permanent Rulemaking Hearing on October 31, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. to allow stakeholders a final opportunity to testify before the Director decides on proposed revisions to Rules 1.1, 1.2, 1.4, and 1.6. The purpose of the proposed revisions is to enact the requirements of Senate Bill 24-201, which increased the number of hours required to qualify for Massage Therapy Licensure from 500 to 650 hours. |
Purpose/Objective of Rule |
The purpose of this Permanent Rulemaking Hearing was to allow stakeholders a final opportunity to testify before the Director determined whether to adopt proposed revisions to Rules 1.1 – APPLICATION FOR LICENSURE, 1.2 – EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS, 1.4 – LICENSURE BY ENDORSEMENT, and 1.6 – SUPERVISION OF STUDENT MASSAGE THERAPISTS, to implement the requirements of Senate Bill 24-201 (CONCERNING AN INCREASE IN THE HOURS OF WORK IN A MASSAGE THERAPY PROGRAM REQUIRED FOR LICENSURE AS A MASSAGE THERAPIST), which increased the number of training hours necessary to be licensed as a Massage Therapist in Colorado from 500 to 650 hours. |
