| Description of Subjects/Issues |
On June 7, 2023, Governor Polis signed into law House Bill 23-1242, which, among other things, directs the Commission to “adopt rules requiring a statewide reduction in fresh water usage, and a corresponding increase in usage of recycled or reused produced water, at oil and gas locations” by December 31, 2024. C.R.S. § 34-60-134(5)(c)(I). The Commission instituted this Produced Water Rulemaking to comply with the relevant provisions of House Bill 23-1242. |
| Purpose/Objective of Rule |
