The statutory basis for these rules is found in section 22-60.5-101, et seq, C.R.S., the Colorado Educator
Licensing Act of 1991, and section 22-2-109(1), C.R.S., State board of education – additional duties. |
| Description of Subjects/Issues |
These rules require updates based on statutory changes by the 2024 legislative session,
primarily:
• Updates to alternative teacher licensure requirements per House Bill 24-1087 (3.12)
Other updates include:
• Updated numbers due to a formatting error, which resulted in incorrect numbers in
the ruleset published in May 2024
• Updated definitions (2.01)
• Clarification between the use of special services as a license type and special services
provider as a professional/educator
• Revisions to the educator interpreter authorization necessitated by Boys Town, which
administers and grades the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA),
policy (4.14)
• Technical clean-up and other revisions for sake of clarity and consistency |
