| Purpose/Objective of Rule |
The Department adopted new rules to the Colorado Department of State Elections Rules on a temporary basis. New Rule 7.2.17 is necessary to ensure that ballot return envelopes used in the Presidential Primary will keep a voter’s choices in that election private as required by Colorado law. These rules are effective immediately. Please see attached Notice of Temporary Adoption, which includes a Statement of Basis and Purpose and Statement of Justification. |

The Department adopted new rules to the Colorado Department of State Elections Rules on a temporary basis. The rules are intended to ensure uniform and proper administration, implementation, and enforcement of Colorado laws regarding voting systems. These rules are effective immediately.
