Statutory Authority Sections 24-21-527(1), 24-21-527(1)(a), and 24-21-527(1)(g), C.R.S.
Purpose/Objective of Rule The Department has adopted temporary rules to amended Rule 5.2.7 of the Colorado Department of State Notary Program Rules. This rule revision is intended to ensure uniform and proper administration, implementation, and enforcement of Colorado Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts. Specifically, the Department temporarily adopts this rule revision to immediately update by rule the fee increase established in Senate Bill 23-153, which clarifies that the fee a notary may charge for their electronic signature has increased from ten dollars to twenty-five dollars. This rule revision is effective immediately and also incorporated into the proposed draft rules introduced in the notice of proposed rulemaking under CCR Tracking # 2023-00266.
