| Description of Subjects/Issues |
In addition to necessary clean-up and updates to standards, these rules require revisions based on:
• Updated standards for the Reading Specialist endorsement
o Sunset the former reading teacher endorsement standards (embedded in elementary
education standards)
• New standards for a Computer Science endorsement
o Sunset the former instructional technology and instructional technology specialist
endorsements (long outdated; no longer meet district hiring or student academic
needs)
• New standards for an Adapted Physical Education endorsement
• Sunset:
o Speech endorsement:
 Standards are a subset of English language arts standards
 Only one Colorado IHE offers the endorsement program and has not had a
candidate in the past five years
o Trade and Industry endorsement
 Discontinued in Nov. 2019, but erroneously retained in the ruleset
• Clean-up of numbering or other errors for clarity and consistency |
