| Description of Subjects/Issues |
The Division of Water Resources, Dam Safety has worked to restructure new rules for efficiency and to reduce redundancy as well as update the rules to incorporate changes in the standard of practice for Dam engineering and dam safety. In addition, DWR Dam Safety is proposing Rule changes to incorporate the results of the recently completed the CO-NM Regional Extreme Precipitation Study which represents the state of practice in dam engineering. In addition, the Rules include incorporation of a more risk-informed decision making (RIDM) approach to inspections, spillway design, and comprehensive evaluation of existing dams. Starting Wednesday November, 6, 2019 and extending (as might be necessary) to Friday November 8, 2019, Colorado Division of Water Resources, Dam Safety will be holding a public rulemaking hearing, pursuant to section 24-4-103(4)(a), C.R.S. and the State Engineer’s Procedural Rules, 2 CCR 402-5. At the hearing, the State Engineer will afford interested persons an opportunity to submit and present written or oral data, views, or arguments for consideration by State Engineers Office (SEO). This Notice contains information on how to participate at the hearing in person and to submit written comments or testimony for consideration by the SEO. |
