Description of Subjects/Issues |
The statutory basis for these rules is found in section 22-95.5-201 et. seq C.R.S. The John W. Buckner Automatic Enrollment in Advanced Courses Grant Program is intended to increase the number of students enrolled in advanced courses for subjects in which the student has demonstrated proficiency. |
Purpose/Objective of Rule |
The goal of the Automatic Enrollment in Advanced Courses Grant Program is to increase the number of underrepresented students enrolled in advanced courses. Local education providers who choose to implement the program by automatically enrolling eligible students into advanced courses may apply. For example, students who score at a proficient level or higher on state-administered assessments will be automatically enrolled in advanced coursework, such as advanced placement (AP). Parents or students may opt-out of automatic enrollment. This competitive grant will support building a school or district’s capacity to offer advanced coursework. |
