Description of Subjects/Issues The purpose of these rules is to promote the safety and welfare of the citizens of Colorado by establishing standards and requirements for licensing commercial driver’s license testing units and testers, to establish fees for such licensing and maximum fees that may be charged by such testing units, to establish certain procedures and standards for issuing and possessing commercial driver’s licenses, and to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
Purpose/Objective of Rule The Department is authorized to adopt rules and regulations as necessary for the Commercial Driver’s License Program in accordance with sections 24-4-103, 42-2-111(1)(b), 42-2-114.5, 42-2-403, 42-2-406 (3 through 7), and 42-2-407(8), C.R.S. The purpose of these rules is to promote the safety and welfare of the citizens of Colorado by establishing standards and requirements for licensing commercial driver’s license testing units and testers, to establish fees for such licensing and maximum fees that may be charged by such testing units, to establish certain procedures and standards for issuing and possessing commercial driver’s licenses, and to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
Comments This rule is being revised to incorporate new procedures as a result of recent legislation and statutory requirements. Only sections D, I, J, and M are being open for review.
