Description of Subjects/Issues |
The statute referencing the general educational development tests, section 22-33-102 (7), was repealed in 2014 and replaced new reference for high school equivalency examination, section 22-33-102 (8.5), and the accompanying rules are therefore obsolete. |
Purpose/Objective of Rule |
Pursuant to 22-2-106 (1)(a) and 22-2-107(1)(c), C.R.S., the State Board of Education shall promulgate and adopt policies, rules and regulations concerning general supervision of the public schools, the department, and the educational programs maintained and operated by all state governmental agencies for persons who have not completed the twelfth-grade level of instruction.
Section 22-33-102 (8.5) authorizes the State Board of education to approve the High School Equivalency Examination(s) utilized in Colorado. |

NOTE added 11/23/2015: The GED rules, originally noticed for a repeal has been changed to an amendment of the rules as directed by the Office of Legislative Legal Services for the inclusion of credentialing and fees for the high school equivalency exam. This amendment also includes changing the title of the rules from Rules for the Administration of the General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program to Rules for the Administration of the High School Equivalency (HES) Examination Program.
