| Purpose/Objective of Rule |
The primary purpose for these proposed amendments to the rules is to implement the new statutory changes and requirements as a result of House Bill 15-1360, Concerning the Use of Injection Therapy by Acupuncturists to include necessary training for a licensee to practice injection therapy and a list of substances that a licensee may obtain for injection therapy.
The Director is also using this opportunity to refine the rules to make them easier to identify and follow, and to update grammar. The refinement also updates how persons in a bona fide training program with an accredited school of acupuncture will have their data maintained by their school and will no longer require the data to be filed with the Director, unless specifically requested.
Finally the draft also includes further clarification for Section 12-29.5-108.5, C.R.S. regarding an acupuncturist's duty to self-report certain medical conditions to the Director.
The Director believes the proposed revisions to the existing rules are fair, impartial and nondiscriminatory. |
