Description of Subjects/Issues |
The Commission received input and recommendations from industry participants, citizens, municipalities, counties, local agencies governing emergency responses, and PSAP representatives. This information serves as the basis for the proposed revisions. Our proposals encourage and promote a statewide transition to internet-protocol (IP) based Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1), without compromising 9-1-1 reliability, resiliency, affordability, and outage reporting. |
Comments |
The proposed rules will entirely replace the current temporary ALI Rules. We request that initial comments on the attached proposed rules be filed through the Commission’s E-Filings System no later than 5:00 p.m., June 5, 2015, and reply comments no later than 5:00 p.m., June 19, 2015. Termination information

Reason |
The Governor’s Chief Legal Counsel requested the PUC suspend its rulemaking indefinitely in order to engage with stakeholders in a process focused on the future of Colorado’s 9-1-1 system. We agree that additional stakeholder discussions comply with the goal of protecting public safety in addressing challenges posed by emerging technologies. We find good cause to terminate the proceeding without adopting rules. |
