Purpose/Objective of Rule |
Statement of Basis: Colorado State Archives is charged with ensuring the preservation of the State’s permanent legal records and information, as well as assisting Colorado citizens with the use of these records. The Colorado General Assembly has directed that fees be charged for information and genealogy search requests per 24-80-102 (10), C.R.S. (2011).
Statement of Purpose: Colorado State Archives is charged with ensuring the preservation of the State’s permanent legal records and information, as well as assisting Colorado citizens with the use of these records. The purpose of this Archives Administrative rule is to establish policies and rates for the preservation, assistance with and use of these records. This rule will also allow high usage customers to pay on an annual subscription basis as opposed to on a project basis. These new rules will be found at 1-CCR-109-2.

Reason for Proposed Changes:
HB10-1181 - Concerning adjustments to the administration of the Department of Personnel, and making an appropriation therefor.
This bill was passed during a previous legislative session and authorizes the creation of rules to establish certain rates to be charged by State Archives for direct and indirect costs of responding to requests for information and research from state agencies and the general public to implement the legislation. |
