Description of Subjects/Issues |
re: Smart Meter data privacy and disclosure rules in large part based on input provided by interested parties in Dockets. 09I-593EG and 10I-099EG; added protections for personal information are essential in order to protect customer privacy. |
Purpose/Objective of Rule |
to revise the current rules applicable to Smart Meter data privacy and disclosure rules (where “smart” meters as those allowing collection of data at a new level of granularity and that may create new, previously unanticipated markets). Added protections for personal information are essential in order to protect customer privacy. Effective privacy policy needs to be thoughtful and pro-active rather than reactive. The Commission proposed Smart Meter data privacy and disclosure rules based on input provided by parties in previous, related cases. |
