| Description of Subjects/Issues |
Revises the admissions criteria to reflect the higher acuity of patients receiving surgery in ASCs. Specifically, the proposed revision allows ASCs to accept patients with pre-existing health conditions that are adequately controlled as long as the physician performing the procedure documents in writing that the patient requires no special management and that the planned procedure does not pose a significant risk to that patient;and any necessary conforming changes. |
