Description of Subjects/Issues |
The proposed rules (amendments) implement the requirements of House Bill 10-1260, which requires the department?s Executive Director or Chief Medical Officer to adopt rules concerning the scope of practice of EMTs, including, but not limited to, allowable acts for each level of EMT certification and the medications that each level can administer, define physician medical direction required for oversight, criteria for waivers of scope of practice rules & min. stds for physicians to be EMS med dir |
Purpose/Objective of Rule |
To establish in rule the Department of Public Health and Environment's authority over the scope of practice of emergency medical technicians and the qualifications and duties of emergency medical services medical directors. |
