Amendments to Standards for Hospitals and Health Facilities, Chapter IV - General Hospitals, and conforming changes to Chapter X - Rehabilitation Centers, Chapter XI - Convalescent Centers, Chapter XII - Chiropractic Centers and Hospitals, Chapter XIV - Maternity Hospitals, and Chapter XIX - Hospital Units. |
| Purpose/Objective of Rule |
The amendments to Chapter IV update standards for the following services: general patient care, pharmaceutical, dietary, and rehabilitation. The amendments also conform some of the licensure requirements with the requirements established under the federal Medicare/Medicaid conditions of participation; make changes to the provisions concerning the governing board, nursing, personnel, and medical records; and make technical changes for clarity, including renumbering. To the extent that Chapter X - Rehabilitation Centers, Chapter XI - Convalescent Centers, Chapter XII - Chiropractic Centers and Hospitals, Chapter XIV - Maternity Hospitals, and Chapter XIX - Hospital Units refer to Chapter IV, these chapters are also amended and renumbered. |
