| Purpose/Objective of Rule |
These proposed amendments are required in order to align the ECEA Rules with the October 2006, May 2007 and December 2008 amendments to the Regulations Implementing the Federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004, 20 U.S.C. Section 1400 et seq. Specifically, these amendments are proposed to address a) the change in name of disability category from ?Speech-language disability? to ?Speech or Language Impairment?; b) addition of a section regarding parental revocation of consent; c) clarification in the definition of ?school day?; and d) addition of a State requirement regarding assessment programs. |
