Initiative 82 deemed sufficient

"Colorado Congressional Delegation to Support Campaign Finance Limits" will appear on November ballot

Denver, September 5, 2012 - Today, Secretary of State Scott Gessler announced that proposed Initiative 82 concerning "Colorado Congressional Delegation to Support Campaign Finance Limits" was found to be sufficient as required by statute.

Proponents of Initiative 82 submitted 182,113 signatures to the Secretary of State’s office on August 6. A five percent random sample review of the signatures projected the number of valid signatures to be less than 110 percent but more than 90 percent of the total number of signatures required for placement on the ballot. Under state law, the Secretary ordered a line-by-line review of every signature submitted. Following the line-by-line review, the Secretary declared the petition sufficient.
