e-FORT is an enterprise level disaster recovery facility offering an alternative, voluntary solution for business continuity/disaster recovery practices. It provides all participating member agencies with a secure, professionally managed facility including space, power & connectivity to operate their information technology equipment by addressing the following strategic objectives:

• Enterprise Solution -- Uniform application of best practices for operational recovery, readiness & response
• Facility Infrastructure Components -- 12,167 sq ft facility including space, power & connectivity
• Funding Strategy -- Colorado Department of State utilizing its cash funds to maintain those portions of the disaster recovery infrastructure that are common in facility infrastructure & operations
• Participating Member Agency Flexibility -- Allows participating member agencies the flexibility to architect their required recovery solutions
• All State of Colorado Government Entities Invited --Participation is voluntary for any of these entities

The e-FORT facility is operated under the provisions of a cooperative agreement between the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office and participating member agencies (any State of Colorado Departments or Agencies) that need a secure, professionally managed facility providing space, power and connectivity to operate their respective information technology equipment. The key objectives of the facility are to:

• Provide a tier 3+ IT facility for operational recovery, readiness & response
• Promote economies of scale through collaboration, consolidation and uniformity of service & infrastructure
• Offer an alternative, voluntary solution to business continuity/disaster recovery practices & capabilities
• Provide participating member agencies with a cost effective & reliable level of expected service in support of their business continuity programs
