- Q1. What is a stud service lien and where can I find more information?
- A1. A stud service lien is a lien that may be filed by the keeper of a bull, ram, or boar in Colorado to secure payment for stud services (breeding services) provided to the livestock of another person.

- Q2. What collateral secures a stud service lien?
- A2. Stud service liens are secured by the get (newborn animal or animals) resulting from the stud services provided by the bull, ram, or boar.
- Q3. What is the duration of a stud service lien?
- A3. A stud service lien is good for one year from the day of birth of any animal born as a result of stud services provided by the bull, ram, or boar.
- Q4. Where are stud service liens filed?
- A4. Stud service liens can be filed with the Colorado Secretary of State. For more information on filing, see section 4-9-501, C.R.S.
