| Purpose/Objective of Rule |
On March 11, 2020, Governor Polis issued Executive Order D 2020 003 declaring a disaster emergency due to the presence of COVID-19 in Colorado. That Executive Order has been extended, most recently on October 30, 2020 by Executive Order D 2020 234, which is subject to further extension by Executive Order. In order to protect the general public and to direct health insurers toward a policy that advances the welfare of the public through overall efficiency, affordability, improved health care quality, and appropriate access, pursuant to § 10-1-108(7), C.R.S., the purpose of this regulation is to establish coverage and cost-sharing requirements for commercial insurance carriers related to claims arising from the testing and treatment of COVID-19 and to ensure covered persons have access to prescription drugs during the COVID-19 emergency. |
