Description of Subjects/Issues |
The proposed changes to existing Rule 220 (Financial Responsibility and Standards) are to implement Colorado House Bill 20-1041 (HB20-1041). This legislation extends the requirement of having commercial professional liability insurance coverage to physician assistants with more than three years of practice experience, unless a statutory exception applies. |
Purpose/Objective of Rule |
The purpose of this Rulemaking is for the permanent adoption of the proposed changes to existing Rule 220 (Financial Responsibility and Standards) to implement Colorado House Bill 20-1041. This legislation extends the commercial professional liability insurance coverage requirements to physician assistants with more than three years of practice experience, unless a statutory exception applies. Physician assistants that have been practicing for more than three years must maintain coverage with at least the minimum indemnity amount as required per Statute and Board Rule. |
