Description of Subjects/Issues |
General technical clean-up of identified errors in language and references has been completed. Additionally, the Trade and Industry (Grades 7-12) has been recommended for discontinuation as a result of inactivity among educator preparation programs and educators. There are currently twenty-four (24) active endorsements in this content area that may continue to be renewed by the applicable license holders.
Finally, per requirements under SB 19-190, the department has drafted proposed standards for a new Mentor Teacher (Grades K-12) endorsement. A stakeholder group was convened to make recommendations to the department regarding these endorsement standards. This group was comprised of the following representatives: 6 teachers; 4 higher education faculty; 4 district/BOCES leaders; 1 principal, 1 Department of Higher Education (DHE) staff member; and 2 advocacy group representatives. |
