Publication Instructions: Replace the incorrect text at 8.800.7.B with the correct text as provided, When the prior authorization request is received, it shall be reviewed to determine if the request is complete. If it is complete, the requesting provider shall be notified of the approval or denial of the prior authorization request via telephone and/or facsimile at the time the request is made, if possible, but in no case later than 24 hours after the request is made. If the prior authorization request is incomplete or additional information is needed, an inquiry to the party requesting the prior authorization shall be initiated within one working day from the day the request was received. If no response is received from that party within 72 hours of the Department’s inquiry, the prior authorization shall be denied. |
