Description of Subjects/Issues Pursuant to §42-8-104(1), CRS, the Chief of the Colorado State Patrol has authority to promulgate rules necessary to implement the enforcement of applicable statutes and regulations concerning commercial motor carriers, owners and operators through the operation of Port of Entry weigh stations on public highways within the State of Colorado. Amendments are being proposed to 8 Colorado Code of Regulations 1507-28 to ensure compliance and consistency with state law and federal regulations. Specifically, these amendments clarify requirements of the Special Revocable Permit Program; correct inadvertent omissions; clarify applicability of these rules; and correct minor grammatical and formatting errors.
Purpose/Objective of Rule Pursuant to §42-8-104(1), CRS, the Chief of the Colorado State Patrol has authority to promulgate rules necessary to implement the enforcement of applicable statutes and regulations concerning commercial motor carriers, owners and operators through the operation of Port of Entry weigh stations on public highways within the state of Colorado. Amendments are being proposed to ensure compliance and consistency with state law and federal regulations. Specifically, these amendments clarify weight tolerances for alternative fuel vehicles; the requirements of and the appeals process applicable to the Special Revocable Permit Program; correct inadvertent omissions; clarify applicability of these rules; update references to POE personnel; and correct minor grammatical and formatting errors.
