Purpose/Objective of Rule The purpose of this regulation is to establish minimum criteria to assure proper and accurate description and to protect prospective purchasers with respect to the advertisement of accident and sickness insurance in the same manner as the regulation governing advertisements of Medicare supplement insurance. This regulation assures the clear and truthful disclosure of the benefits, limitations and exclusions of policies sold as accident and sickness insurance by the establishment of standards of conduct in the advertising of accident and sickness insurance in a manner that prevents unfair, deceptive and misleading advertising and is conducive to accurate presentation and description to the insurance-buying public through the advertising media and material used by insurance producers and companies.
