Description of Subjects/Issues SB13-282 directs the Commission to adopt rules by January 31, 2014 creating an exemption from tiered electric rate plans based on a customerís medical condition or use of an essential life support device.
Purpose/Objective of Rule to implement SB13-282 by requiring electric utilities to file a tariff with a rate plan for persons who qualify for and request an alternative rate plan based on medical qualifications

Comments This rulemaking replaced rulemaking initiated with TN 2011-00584, which was further suplemented by filings made in TN 2012-00069 and TN 2012-01112. The rules adopted in the Decision on Exceptions were subject to appeal during a period for filing applications for rehearing, reargument, or reconsideration. The rules became final December 24, 2013 when no appeal was filed.
