| Description of Subjects/Issues |
The purpose of these amendments is to update the current rules and terms published by the nationally recognized fertilizer Official Publication of the Association of American Plant Food Control Officials (AAPFCO); reflect standards in changing requirements; reflect national methods and standards; and correct minor errors. |
| Purpose/Objective of Rule |
To update the current rules and terms published by the nationally recognized fertilizer Official Publication of the Association of American Plant Food Control Officials (AAPFCO). The new rules will also reflect standards set by AAPFCO, in changing the requirements for minor plant nutrient sources and minimum nutrient guarantees that will standardize fertilizer industry regulation amongst the states. To reflect national methods and standards, the rules will also update, consolidate and simplify sampling and laboratory analysis methods for fertilizers, soil conditioners, plant amendments and compost, so that iron sucrate testing procedures are no longer set apart from those of other iron sources. The rules also define "soil conditioner," as required by section 35-12-103(29) of the Commercial Fertilizer, Soil Conditioner, and Plant Amendment Act, and correct minor errors within the rule text. |
