Statewide Accountability Measures for the Colorado Public School Finance System |
| Purpose/Objective of Rule |
During the 2011 legislative session, the following changes were made to the Education Accountability Act and must be updated in the corresponding rules: As stated in HB 11-1277, the department need not “approve” school and district turnaround plans; As required by HB 11-1277, small school districts with few students will be permitted to submit a single plan to serve as both the district and school improvement plan; and
•As required by HB 11-1126, districts must notify parents if a school is required to adopt an improvement plan, priority improvement plan, or turnaround plan. Parent notification must include a timeline for developing the plan, as well as information about the date, time, and location of a public hearing for adopting the plan. |
