| Purpose/Objective of Rule |
HB 1244 transfers regulatory authority for the insurance requirements and minimum financal responsibilities of for-hire property motor carriers from the Public Utilities Commission to the Department of Public Safety. Enforcing these requirmnts requires an adoption of Part 387 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Without the immediate adoption of Part 387 the Department of Public Safety would be unable to enforce minimum insurance and financial responsiblity requirements upon for-hire commercal carriers of property. |
